Ash

Hardness

Ash is a medium hardwood. It offers a fair amount of durability. Ash is similar to the hardness of red oak. Ash is a moderate wood to work with; can tear out on planer but is fairly easy to sand out imperfections.

Staining

Ash is a medium density hardwood that can be stained. Its even natural color provides even surfaces to stain. The grain pattern makes it look uneven in certain areas. Offers ease of use with glue lines and hides imperfections well. Its natural colors present themselves very nicely with a standard clear coat finish for those after an even, yellow tone lumber.
